This is a project I did with another student called James Watkins for the Ludlow Forestry Commision. We were given an outside breif to creat a new way of using way markers using only the one shape. We decided to go with a diamond because which ever way you put it there is still an arrow that will show the way. Once we had the concept planned all we had to was create the asthetics which I think work quite well and attract your attention so you can see which way to go. It was a fun little project and I enjoyed working with another student.
This is a logo idea I did for the bar where I work part time as they wanted a new identity. Its a little country pub right next to the river Wye and a bridge called Kerne Bridge, because of this I went for Times as the font because I think it worked well with the athetic of the pub. To bring in the river and bridge theme i swapped one of the 'n's' around to make it form a bridge, which I think works quite well and gives the identity a bit of character. Unfortunately they decided not to take it on due to cost issues.
This is what my final app design looked like for the project at the start of year 2, I showed it being used on the iPhone to show it wouls actually look. I think it worked quite well and looks ok but I can see now where I could improve. I think I could of improved the athetics of the app I think I may have kept it too basic because of the type of app it is but i still think its ok.
These are my initial ideas for a project where we had to design an app for the iPhone. They are quite basic because I was just playing about with type and effects to use. These are designs for the buttons of the app which you would see on the menu of the phone.
This was also a project we had in the first year to make a poster for The Big Chill Festival. I tried to go with the theme of the festival and make it 'chilled out' thats why i went with the faded rainbow idea in circles. there was a lot of text we had to acomidate which i think hinders the flow of the poster, I tired my best to continue the theme lookig back now I can see many mistakes that I could improve and make the poster better and more towards the target audience.
